Desire Quotes

drc1

The Beginning matters not, all that is known is how
I delight in her every motion. My heart dissolves
each moment she is near. Empty is left when she departs,
I wonder when will she succumb to the smoldering
desire just below. Oh were she to convey the yearn for
my touch, I may find the fortitude to trudge forward, but
if she were to decide to indulge in me, I would be furiously
resolved to commandeer all that is within my grasp, to relish
every inch of she, and halt only when she can no longer receive.
If I could submerge in her my desire, she would have that which
has eluded for a lifetime….A calmness of ambition, and the
eternal warmth of Immaculate Fulfillment….Philip Larson.

The desire accomplished is
sweet to the soul….Proverbs 13:19.

We trifle when we assign limits to our desires,
since nature hath set none….Christian Nevell Bovee.

Desire, like the atom, is explosive
with creative force….Paul Vernon Buser.

Very few persons, comparatively, know how to Desire
with sufficient intensity. They do not know what it
is to feel and manifest that intense, eager, longing,
craving, insistent, demanding, ravenous Desire which
is akin to the persistent, insistent, ardent, overwhelming
desire of the drowning man for a breath of air; of the
shipwrecked or desert-lost man for a drink of water; of
the famished man for bread and meat….Robert Collier.

An intense anticipation itself transforms possibility into
reality; our desires being often but precursors of the
things which we are capable of performing….Samuel Smiles.

The consuming desire of most human beings is
deliberately to plant their whole life in the
hands of some other person. I would describe
this method of searching for happiness as immature.
Development of character consists solely in
moving toward self-sufficiency….Quentin Crisp.

Plant the seed of desire in your mind and it forms
a nucleus with power to attract to itself
everything needed for its fulfillment….Robert Collier.

There is no such thing as can’t, only won’t. If you’re qualified,
all it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change.
Go forward, go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can’t blame
other people or society in general. It all comes from your mind. When
we do the impossible we realize we are special people….Jan Ashford.

Our thoughts create our reality–not instantly, necessarily,
as in “Poof! There it is” — but eventually. Where we put our
focus — our inner and outer vision — is the direction we tend
to go. That’s our desire, our intention….Peter McWilliams.

Burning desire to be or do something gives us staying power
– a reason to get up every morning or to pick ourselves
up and start in again after a disappointment….Marsha Sinetar.

To awaken each morning with a smile brightening my
face; to greet the day with reverence for the
opportunities it contains; to approach my work with
a clean mind; to hold ever before me, even in the doing
of little things, the Ultimate Purpose toward which I am
working; to meet men and women with laughter on my lips
and love in my heart; to be gentle, kind, and courteous
through all the hours; to approach the night with weariness
that ever woos sleep and the joy that comes from work well done
– this is how I desire to waste wisely my days….Thomas Dekker.

The first principle of success is desire –
knowing what you want. Desire is the
planting of your seed….Robert Collier.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself. To
melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody
to the night. To wake at dawn with a winged heart and
give thanks for another day of loving….Kahlil Gibran.

haunting truth

A big question was the suicide note.

December 5, 2008 by JAESEN

Should you leave one or not?

and if so~ what should you say in it?

The argument for not leaving a note was a strong one~

someone might find the note and stop you from doing it.

….Of course you could drop it in the mail
so the the delay would give you time
to die before the note arrived.

Nonetheless, a note is problematic:
if you had something to say to someone,

then maybe you didn’t need to commit suicide after all.

People who really want to die
do it because they have nothing left

to offer the world.

But your ego tempts you to leave a note:
you want to go out with a: bang

…write something so memorable that you would be considered to be:

a tragically flawed genius.

The desire to write a suicide note that was a literary masterpiece kept me alive at times.

I couldn’t kill myself…

until I thought of something good enough.

It wouldn’t do to write a note that was sentimental, cliche’, or merely mundane…

One day I found a book of suicide notes…

it was sad how unimpressive they were.

Clever sMacK ‘em up:

Jesus Camp

Jesus Camp was screened at:
Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival against the wishes of the distribution company, Magnolia Pictures. Magnolia had pulled Jesus Camp from the festival earlier in the summer after it purchased rights to the film, in a decision apparently inspired by Moore’s association with the film festival, with Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles saying:
“I don’t want the perception out in the public that this is an agenda-laden film.”

Consensus: Evangelical indoctrination is given an unflinching, even-handed look in this utterly worthwhile documentary.

On January 23, 2007, “Jesus Camp” was nominated for the 2007 79th Annual Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Documentary Feature.
It lost out to Davis Guggenheim and Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth.

“The directors’ claims that they were simply trying to create an ‘objective’ film about children and faith ring hollow. I don’t question the motives of the Christians shown in the film. Indeed, the earnestness and zeal with which the young people pictured attempt to live out their faith are admirable. Unfortunately, however, it appears that they were unknowingly being manipulated by the directors in their effort to cast evangelical Christianity in an unflattering light.”

In one scene shot at Christ Triumphant Church, Lou Engle, a leader of the group Harvest International Ministries (the religious organization with which both the church and Fischer’s ministry are affiliated—an affiliation not advertised in the film) and founder of the Justice House of Prayer, preaches a message urging children to join the fight to end abortion in America. He prays for George W. Bush to have the strength to appoint “righteous judges” who will overturn Roe v. Wade. By the end of the sermon, the children are chanting, “Righteous judges! Righteous judges!” In another, a woman brings a life-sized cutout of Bush to the front of the church, and has the children stretch their hands toward him. Some media reports misinterpreted this as “worshiping” the president, but the children were actually “praying over him”. Indeed, the woman clearly tells them “pray for” Bush and “speak a blessing to him”. Stretching hands toward someone is a derivative of laying hands on someone, which is a very common practice in Pentecostal and charismatic churches.

There is also a scene at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Levi and his family go on vacation to hear its renowned pastor, Ted Haggard.
(Less than two months after the release of the film, Haggard became embroiled in a high-profile scandal involving homosexual prostitution and methamphetamine use. Haggard, 50, resigned as president of the National Association of Evangelicals and was fired from the church he built from nothing into a 14,000-member congregation after a former male prostitute in Denver alleged a three-year cash-for-sex relationship. Haggard admitted to “sexual immorality” and a long battle against feelings contrary to his beliefs. He admitted buying methamphetamine but said he never used it. Haggard did not respond to interview requests. After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive counseling, overseen by four ministers. On February 6, 2007 one of those ministers, Tim Ralph, stated that Haggard “is completely heterosexual.”
Ralph later said he meant to say that therapy “gave Ted the tools to help to embrace his heterosexual side.”

According to the distributor, it “doesn’t come with any prepackaged point of view” and tries to be “an honest and impartial depiction of one faction of the evangelical Christian community”.
